United Ups Award Change Fees

United MileagePlus has introduced a $75 fee for award flight changes that do not involve a origin/destination change and are for 21 days or more from the date of award travel. In the past, these types of changes were free.
And if you wait until fewer than 21 days out, the fee is $100.
If you cancel an award and redeposit your miles the cost is now $200, up from $150 (matching the recently upped change fee of revenue tickets).
If you are an elite member in MileagePlus, you'll have some relief from these fees. If making a change 21 or more days prior to the date of travel with no change in origin/destination, you will not be charged a fee if you are an elite status member (Silver, Gold, Platinum, 1K, Global Services).
Making any change less than 21 days prior to the date of travel, or changing the origin/destination at any time, which is $100 for general members is $50 for Silver, $25 for Gold and free for Platinum, 1K and Global Services members.
Canceling the trip and re-crediting the miles, regardless of the date, which is $200 for general members is $120 for Silver, $100 for Gold and free for Platinum, 1K and Global Services members.
These changes are not in place for tickets issued June 18, 2013 or earlier.
