Aeroplan made some changes to award ticketing rules on Monday that increases the flexibility of awards on select routes.
Members can now include one stopover on Star Alliance domestic award flights to the U.S., two stopovers on Air Canada to international destinations and two stopovers on Star Alliance intercontinental flights. Previously, stopovers were limited to one stopover on Air Canada and Star Alliance international itineraries with no stopovers possible on domestic routes.
Also, members will now be allowed to combine transatlantic and transpacific flights on the same award itinerary. In other words, a round-the-world flight is now an acceptable routing as long as it doesn?t exceed the maximum permitted mileage and includes valid routings.
