What It Is
Forum-era slang for an inexperienced traveler. Also related to United Airlines cabin climate.
What It Really Means
everyone starts somewhere… some just start in the boarding lane.
Deep Notes
The United Airlines “Kettle” nickname originated among frequent flyers describing certain aircraft whose cabin climate could fluctuate dramatically between overly hot and uncomfortably cold.
Like many aviation nicknames, the term became part operational observation and part shared passenger folklore, surviving long after individual aircraft types were retired or reconfigured.
