The biggest headline this week is the brand-new Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club at Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW), which opened July 16 in Terminal D near Gate D25. At 18,000 square feet, it’s designed exclusively for Chase Sapphire Reserve cardmembers and eligible guests, and it’s packed with features that stand out even in the Sapphire network: a dedicated Whiskey Lounge with Texas whiskey tastings, meals from acclaimed Bishop Arts District restaurant Encina, Peloton-guided stretching and meditation sessions (a first for the network), Face Haus facial treatments, private shower suites, quiet rest pods, and a children’s playroom. If you hold a Sapphire Reserve card and are passing through DFW, this is an easy priority.
For American Airlines loyalists, the carrier is building a 37,000-square-foot Admirals Club in DFW’s Terminal C—which would be the single largest Admirals Club—plus a new grab-and-go ‘Provisions’ location in the under-construction Terminal F. The new lounge will use American’s “gorgeous new lounge aesthetic” first seen at Washington National’s E concourse and already expanded to Denver and Newark, so it should be a significant upgrade over some of the older, more clinical DFW lounges. However, no opening date has been announced yet, so this one is on the horizon but not immediately available.
If you’re not at DFW, the same new American lounge design is also coming to Nashville and Austin, though those are still in the pipeline. For now, the most actionable advice is: if you’re connecting through DFW and have access (via a Chase Sapphire Reserve card, Priority Pass, or other eligible membership), head to the new Chase Sapphire Lounge in Terminal D. If you’re an American Airlines flyer without that access, keep an eye out for updates on the Terminal C Admirals Club—it promises to be a much better experience than what’s there now.
Bottom line
If you're at DFW and have access, the new Chase Sapphire Lounge is your best bet right now; the massive new American Admirals Club is coming but not yet open.
