(Posted: Jul 19, 2010)

American Airlines and JetBlue are launching their partnership on July 20 and frequent flyer members will be able to earn miles or points on select routes later this year.

American and JetBlue initially announced their new partnership in March and effective July 20, American Airlines customers will be able to connect on 18 of JetBlue's domestic flights, including Portland, Maine; Rochester, N.Y. or Richmond, Va. JetBlue customers will be able to connect to 14 of American's international destinations from New York and Boston, including Barcelona, Spain; Paris, France and Tokyo.

No word yet on when this year the frequent flyer reciprocal relationship will go into effect on eligible routes.
