On Jan. 14, residents of El Salvador fell victim to an earthquake that measured a magnitude of 7.6, leaving over 650 dead and more than 2,500 injured. In the fight to save and rebuild lives in the quake's aftermath, Delta Air Lines and American Airlines are both doing their part to assist in bringing relief in the midst of destruction.
Through Feb. 28, any miles donated by Delta SkyMiles members to CARE or United Way International via SkyWish will go to earthquake relief efforts in El Salvador.
Donations can be made in 5,000-mile increments and Delta will increase each donation by adding 1,000 miles for every 5,000 miles donated. Miles donated to UWI will help earthquake victims get to the United States for medical care not available in El Salvador. UWI will also fly qualified relief workers and community builders to El Salvador to provide assistance. Miles donated with CARE will send relief workers in and out of El Salvador to provide services and supplies. CARE is working to provide food, shelter and other comforts to residents.
Email the amount you would like to donate including your account number to email@example.com.
