Aer Lingus Gold Circle Club
Website Review

(12 ratings)

Rated: August 2013- All the basic information about Aer Lingus Gold Circle Club and how to earn and redeem points is located on the Gold Circle Club home page. There are four main categories of information with links to additional details about the Gold Circle Club program, elite program, earning points and using points. Members can also navigate the site by using the menu on the left hand side of the page. Click on any menu item to reveal a drop down menu to help you quickly narrow down your search.

There are links to log in and join the program on the right side along with links to manage your booking, such as changing an itinerary, checking in online and choosing a seat. At the top of the page is a link to answers for the top five questions.

The online registration asks for your name, address, email, phone number, home airport, security question and answer and your chosen PIN or password. None of the information is optional and not all of the airports were available from the list of home airports. For example, Colorado Springs was not an option but Denver was available. Members will automatically receive special offers from Aer Lingus and partners unless you click the box to not receive information. And the fine print says you may be contacted by any means of communication, which includes mail sent to your provided address. After joining, you can log in using your email address and password.

Members will need to log in to their account and have enough points for redemption in order to search for and book award tickets on Aer Lingus. Roundtrip and one-way flights are available online and you can view a table that lists the point requirements for all destinations from Dublin or you can enter a different airport. When searching for availability, if you don’t have any points, the From and To fields on the award booking screen will say Insufficient Points so you won’t even be able to search for availability if your account balance is too low. For award flights on partner airlines, members will need to call the service center.

Requests for missing points on Aer Lingus can be made online for travel completed in the last three months. Flights completed before your registered as a Gold Circle Club member are not eligible to earn points.

The FAQ list is located under the About the Club tab and is divided into three sections: Gold Circle Membership, Gold Circle Points and Account Balances & Statements. The FAQ list is a bit more user friendly than the Terms & Conditions with information better organized and easier to find.

The Aer Lingus Gold Circle Club website is relatively clean with an intuitive set up, but without any points available in our account, we weren’t able to test the award booking engine. Most programs will let you search for flights without logging in to your account and we don’t like the requirement that you need to log in and have sufficient points to conduct an award search.
